Knowing they can cope brilliantly with whatever comes their way and be the best they can be.”

Hello and welcome, I’m Sarah. I’m a daughter, sister, wife, a mum of two and a “hu-mum” to my lovely dog – Wren and an axolotl named Mabel.
An avid Earl Grey tea drinker, a lover of walking in ancient woodlands and bright colours – which is something I often express through my hair colour and clothing.

I dream of visiting Norway and seeing the Northern Lights in all their glory and have been doing my best to learn to speak Norwegian (Bokmal) for the last three years.

I’m also a fully qualified and accredited hypnotherapist, but I haven’t always been a hypnotherapist. I’ve had a few different jobs over the years ranging from healthcare to retail and administration.

It was in 2018, that I took a leap of faith and decided to train as a hypnotherapist and psychotherapist with the prestigious Clifton Practice.

Since fully qualifying and launching my practice in 2020, I have helped hundreds of people who wanted to feel better about themselves and their lives and live more confidently. In doing so I have gained thousands of hours of clinical experience.

Before experiencing hypnotherapy for myself, I was always intrigued but also a tad sceptical. LOTS of my clients have told me in their last sessions how amazing hypnotherapy has been for them and how they were also sceptical at the start.

So I thought,

“Hey, maybe I could share a bit of my journey in to hypnotherapy on the website”.

Because chances are, you could be feeling hopeful that something can help you but also feeling a bit sceptical.

I first discovered hypnotherapy for myself in 2010 when I was expecting my second child. Following a not particularly positive birth experience with my first baby, I was determined to find something to alleviate the impending sense of dread that had descended upon me before it was time to deliver our second.

Hypnotherapy worked!

The change was such an immense relief, I went on to birth our second baby in a birthing pool at home and it was the most peaceful, healing experience I could have wished for.
Surprisingly to me at the time, I also found my general confidence had massively improved.

I ditched the cumbersome pram which aggravated an old back injury and chose to use baby slings, going against the societal norm of the town I was living in.

I did lots of research and soon I was confidently wrapping and happily carrying my newborn baby in slings. Very quickly I had lots of other new parents approaching me and asking for information on how to use them.

This lead me to decide to train as a Babywearing Consultant and founded a local sling library as well as opening a carrying consultancy to teach parents and primary caregivers how to carry their babies and toddlers safely.

I have no doubt at all that the increase in my confidence thanks to hypnotherapy was key in this. Sarah before would never have dared to launch two self employed businesses while on maternity leave!

With all the busy-ness of family, self employment and my return to regular employment at the end of maternity leave, hypnotherapy became a fond and distant memory for the next four years.

Until in 2014, when I found myself suffering from high anxiety just at the thought of driving on a motorway.

It had reached the level that I had even started to avoid any roads that required merging lanes and I knew something had to be done.

My world was getting smaller and smaller as I avoided going to new places as I couldn’t face driving on unfamiliar roads.

After a period of time trying to force myself to get over it to no success, I decided some additional help was what I needed.

So I turned to Google (because that’s what we all do first, right?) and after a bit of scrolling, I noticed hypnotherapy coming up in the searches.

After a bit more googling, I had found a therapist locally to me and got in touch to enquire if a “lost cause” like me could be helped.

The therapist was lovely and responded to my email with encouragement and some upcoming availability and….

I didn’t reply!

I just wasn’t ready.

Six months later, I got back in touch and guess what? They were still lovely and this time I really was ready to do whatever the therapy process required to change my feelings and responses to driving and it worked!

Ok, I’m rambling on a bit now so lets skip forward another four years.

By this time I had relocated to another county, left my full-time employment of 12 years and found myself in a fortunate position which offered me the opportunity to stop and think about what I would like to do next as a career.

It didn’t take long at all for hypnotherapy to come to mind.

For years I had been singing its praises and loved the difference it made to my whole life.

I wanted to help others feel as good as I had from hypnotherapy.

More researching commenced in 2018 and I found a training school considered widely to be the gold standard of hypnotherapy training and since then I’ve not looked back.

Since fully qualifying and launching my practice in 2020, I have helped hundreds of people who wanted to feel better about themselves, their lives and live more confidently.
